You shouldn’t have done that – Jonny Evans tells Onana over goakeeper’s reaction to his latest blunder

Veteran defender Jonny Evans of Manchester United has informed custodian Andre Onana that he declined to speak to the media after his team’s Champions League loss to Bayern Munich.

The international player from Cameroon came forward after Manchester United lost to Bayern Munich as a result of his error.

Onana replaced the famous David de Gea as he transferred from Inter Milan to Manchester United over the summer.

Leroy Sane’s goal on Wednesday night, the first of four for Bayern Munich, was unquestionably Onana’s fault.

Onana freely went before the media after the game and admitted fault.

However, seasoned defender Evans does not believe that was the best course of action.

“It’s a big thing for him to do that,” Evans said to TNT Sports.

He wasn’t required to do it. However, I believe it’s quite challenging for any player joining a new team to get off to a strong start, and perhaps he’s been a little too hard on himself. That has happened to me pretty often. And I can speak from personal experience.

“David de Gea, who stayed here for a while, is being replaced by him. Remember that David first found it difficult to fit in at Manchester United, and we were able to observe the kind of career he would eventually have for the team.
