“WHERE WERE THE REFEREES?!” — Chaos Erupts After Nils Lundkvist Takes Skate to the Face in Game 4… League Under FIRE

Dallas Stars player Nils Lundkvist might have got himself a really bad cut at the least, but let’s hope it’s not anything worse than that.

On Saturday night during Game 4 of the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, Lundkvist was part of a pretty scary moment against the Minnesota Wild. Interestingly, this incident happened right after Lundkvist was called for a small penalty for tripping Wild player Michael McCarron right in front of the goal where the NHL referees could see everything.

Unfortunately for Lundkvist, he didn’t have much time to think about his penalty because things got a lot worse for him. When Lundkvist tripped McCarron, McCarron fell to the ice, but in a really bad turn of events, Lundkvist also went down after him, and that’s when the shocking part happened.

As McCarron fell, his skates kicked up a little bit behind him. That was just enough for Lundkvist to bring his face right into the path of those skates as he fell behind McCarron. The result was McCarron’s skate cutting into Lundkvist’s face in a terrible way, making him rush off the ice.

When Lundkvist left the ice, there was a big cut visible on his face, but we can’t know yet how serious the injury really is.
