Disrespect or Mistake?! Massive Backlash Erupts After ‘O Canada’ Blasts in Buffalo

A special moment showing the friendship between the two top hockey countries just happened in Buffalo tonight.

The local team, the Buffalo Sabres, was about to compete against the Boston Bruins in the fifth game of their first playoff series, and all that was left to do was sing the National Anthems before the game started.

For those who don’t know, the Sabres usually sing both ‘O Canada’ and the ‘Star Spangled Banner’ no matter who is playing, and tonight was just like that. Since Buffalo is close to Canada and many of their fans come from there, the team has been singing both anthems for over 50 years.

But there was a little issue tonight.

The microphone for singer Cami Clune stopped working while she was singing ‘O Canada. ‘

However, the loyal Sabres fans didn’t skip a beat; they sang their neighbor’s National Anthem loudly and proudly for everyone to hear.

Isn’t that amazing?

With all the political nonsense happening between our two countries, this moment perfectly shows how hockey can unite us all.

Great job, Sabre fans. You’re awesome people.
