Bernardo Silva says he will stop at nothing to prevent £60 million player from joining Man United in January

I think he will never play for Manchester United. The best player on Man City, Bernardo Silva, has stated that he will use every effort to prevent the £60 million Portuguese midfielder from moving to Manchester United in January.

Neves, 19, is having a breakthrough season while playing for the dominant Portuguese team. Enzo Fernandez joined Roger Schmidt’s midfield after moving to Chelsea for £105 million in January, and he has since shown to be a vital component of the team.

United has kept an eye on the teenager on multiple occasions; most recently, he equalised in injury time during the derby victory against Sporting Lisbon prior to the international break.

The transfer was reportedly sanctioned last week by United captain Bruno Fernandes, who persuaded the Premier League’s top brass of Neves’ potential.

But Silva, the City player, has other intentions. He promises to make every effort to convince Neves and Ruben Dias to relocate to the blue side of Manchester.

At a glamorous event in Lisbon, Silva said, “I am thrilled for João and the other young players who are playing for Benfica and the national team.”

Joao Neves in the Premier League? I believe that good players are capable of competing in any championship. He is still a very young player in my opinion, and he has a big career ahead of him. Right now, his club comes first.

He got to the national team, made himself at home, and blended right in. If the coach believes he can contribute, he’s another one who can assist us win the European Championship.

For City rather than United? I’ll pull strings to get Joao Neves to sign with Man City if I can. Naturally, I would like João to join City rather than Manchester United.

Last week, United star Fernandes launched his charm assault by expressing his desire to play with Neves at Old Trafford.

Fernandes stated, “The Man United coach has to decide whether or not he has a place.”

He’s a great player, I don’t know if he would have a place or not. It depends on the coach and his ideas.

‘But he’s an excellent player and an excellent kid, very professional, he will have a bright future wherever he goes.

‘I would love to have him by my side. Because he has quality and will have a bright future. It depends on him. What I want most is the best for him’.
