Chicago Cubs Sign Intriguing Flamethrower to Minor League Deal

A highly intriguing addition that is a play for the future has been made by the Chicago Cubs.

Everyone is waiting to see if one of the prominent free agents still available will eventually agree to a deal with the Chicago Cubs.

These four players provide improvements for various reasons.

Their starting rotation gains a significant lift from Blake Snell and Jordan Montgomery, making the top three a formidable opponent. The adaptable defender who adds strength to their lineup is Cody Bellinger. At third base, Matt Chapman is a reliable hitter and the solution to all of their problems.

Securing one of these four would drastically alter the perception of an otherwise unimpressive offseason.

Sadly for Cubs supporters, it appears like the Bellinger saga will go on as their owner has made some recent remarks.

Therefore, while these procedures continue, the front office keeps looking for changes that will enhance not just their Major League roster but the organization as a whole.

According to Chicago’s transaction page, they signed pitcher JC Coronado to a minor league contract earlier in February.

The right-hander a member of the Cisco College baseball program which is a Junior College located in Texas. He was part of the Pioneer League in 2021 and 2023, appearing in 11 games, starting one, and posting an ERA of 14.92. He gave up 20 earned runs on 18 hits over 12 2/3 innings of work.

What makes the 22-year-old such an intriguing pitcher is his raw talent that has his fastball clocked at 100 miles per hour.

This video was taken in 2022 according to the timestamp, and he’s had another year to develop.
