Mason Greenwood has been introduced by Getafe as their new player. The number 12 shirt will be worn by the former Man United striker.
The day before the transfer deadline, Greenwood joined the team on loan. United advised him to pursue his career elsewhere.
On August 21, the Red Devils announced that they had abandoned their effort to reintegrate the 21-year-old into the first-team squad and were now assisting the player in finding a new team to jumpstart his career.
Since February, when the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) dropped its case against him for attempted rape, assault, and coercive control, he has been the focus of an internal inquiry by United. Greenwood disputed each and every charge.
United would be okay with not getting paid for Greenwood, but with the summer transfer window closing in just a few hours, it’s becoming increasingly likely that a deal won’t go through.
