In January, Scott McTominay ought to choose West Ham United over Newcastle, despite the Magpies’ connections with the midfield player.
Frank McAvennie, a former Scotland and Hammers striker, stated exclusively to Football Insider that while he thought the Manchester United midfielder would stay in Manchester, he would be “concerned” if he relocated to Tyneside.
The Scottish player has fluctuated in and out of Erik ten Hag’s starting lineup this season, but he is putting up a strong case for a larger role at Old Trafford after scoring three goals in his previous two Premier League games.

This summer, Manchester United turned down a £30 million approach from West Ham for McTominay, but McAvennie stated he would “much rather” see him at the London Stadium.
“If he’s a mainstay, I don’t believe he’ll go.” However, he told Football Insider, “I believe Man United will add players with Christian Eriksen, Mason Mount, and Casemiro.”
This player has been transformed into an offensive midfielder by Steve Clarke. Although he has been playing in the holding midfield position, he is not one.
