Man United’s Reaction to FIFA’s Threat to Suspend Jadon Sancho

Manchester United is convinced that their treatment of Jadon Sancho’s ban from first-team training and activities complied with FIFA regulations and employment legislation.

After publicly criticising his manager, Erik ten Hag, the winger was barred from taking part in first-team training sessions and barred from all related activities, including access to the dressing room and canteen.

According to FIFA standards, a club that asks a player to train alone may be engaging in “abusive conduct,” which is illegal under employment law.

Manchester United, on the other hand, believes they have not violated these rules.

The club claims that by assigning fitness specialists to work with Sancho, they have provided him with a suitable degree of training and physical conditioning.

As things stand, Sancho will be unable to play for Manchester United unless he apologises to Ten Hag.

Notably, Sancho appears to be expecting an apology from the manager himself, as evidenced by his posture. Ten Hag declined to speak on Sancho on Tuesday, adding that he would “not talk about players who are not available.”

Manchester United played brilliantly without Sancho in Tuesday’s Carabao Cup match, securing a two-goal lead with their second-string lineup before Anthony Martial added a third in the second half.

Ten Hag’s team will play the same opponents, Crystal Palace, in the forthcoming Premier League match this weekend.
