In their quest to sign a new striker for Old Trafford, Manchester United is seriously considering changing their strategy amid mounting concerns that Atalanta has priced them out of the hunt for Rasmus Hojlund.
To lessen the pressure on Marcus Rashford, Erik ten Hag has made it obvious that he wants to sign a replacement center forward this summer. The recent academy graduate had his greatest season to date, scoring 30 goals across all competitions.

Those plans, however, have drastically changed in light of reports Atalanta is asking for much to €100 million for the star. The fact that one of Europe’s powerhouses is apparently in negotiations with the talent is maybe even more concerning for Ten Hag.

That price could indicate that United has lost interest in the star. Ten Hag’s dissatisfaction will be obvious given that United and the 20-year-old have already reached a mutual understanding.
To that purpose, it was stated that the striker had reached an agreement on a five-year contract that would have increased his pay by an astounding 800%.
As a result, Football Insider is now reporting that United chiefs have started advanced negotiations regarding a deal for Randal Kolo Muani as well.
United has been following the France striker for some years, but their interest seems to have diminished due to their pursuit of Hojlund.
The 24-year-old only recently transferred from Nantes to Eintracht Frankfurt as a free agent.
But he had a fantastic season in his first year in the Bundesliga, finishing with a respectable 23 goals and 17 assists in 46 games.
The statistic of a goal contribution every 1.15 games shows a player who is not just of excellent quality but also one who might work well with United’s other attackers.
United has now discovered that Frankfurt has set a €95 million (£82.2 million) asking price for the striker.
That follows conversations about a potential transfer to Old Trafford with the Bundesliga team and the striker’s agency.
Furthermore, given that United thinks Hojlund’s asking price is “excessive,” there is a good probability they may shift course and prioritize signing Kolo Muani.

For Andre Onana and Mason Mount thus far this summer, United has spent £98 million. Any striker deal will therefore probably come very near to tripling their current outlay.
