NHL Just Humiliated the Oilers? Fans EXPLODE After Shocking Norris Trophy Snub

The NHL has announced three players who are up for the 2026 Norris Trophy, which recognizes the best defenseman in the league.

The players nominated are Rasmus Dahlin, Cale Makar, and Zach Werenski.

It’s good to remember that these choices come from votes by members of the Professional Hockey Writers Association (PHWA).

You might notice that Evan Bouchard from the Edmonton Oilers is not on the list, even though he was the top-scoring defenseman last season.

Well, the Oilers definitely noticed this too. . .

Take a look at a post from the Oilers on social media, which seems to point out the PHWA’s choice.

Honestly, Bouchard probably deserves to be recognized.

After all, he had 95 points, which was the highest among all NHL defensemen last season. The next highest was Zach Werenski with 81 points. That’s a big difference. . .

And for those saying Bouchard is weak on defense, just remember that Erik Karlsson has won the Norris Trophy twice.

But honestly, I would probably vote for Cale Makar. You can’t go wrong with either Werenski or Dahlin, but Makar plays at a higher level. Still, I wouldn’t mind any of these three nominees winning the award.
