Red Sox Vs. Guardians Lineups: Masataka Yoshida Sits Fourth Straight Game

Yoshida has been noticeably absent from the starting lineup since last Saturday’s game in Pittsburgh. As the Red Sox and the Guardians gear up for the final showdown of their three-game series on Thursday afternoon at Progressive Field, fans are eager to see if Yoshida will make a comeback

Despite an earlier assurance from manager Alex Cora that Masataka Yoshida would take on the role of Boston’s designated hitter for the matinee matchup, the lineup revealed a different plan. Rafael Devers, fresh off his return to action in Wednesday’s impressive victory, will reclaim the designated hitter spot on Thursday, with Pablo Reyes filling in at third base. This marks Yoshida’s fourth consecutive game starting from the bench.

Chase Anderson gets the nod on the mound for Boston, showcasing his recent success with two shutout innings in each of his last two outings. Cleveland’s Triston McKenzie, on the other hand, has struggled to complete six innings in any of his first four starts this season.

Excitement brews as the starting lineups for Thursday’s clash are unveiled:

RED SOX (14-11)
Jarren Duran, CF
Rafael Devers, DH
Rob Refsnyder, LF
Wilyer Abreu, RF
Pablo Reyes, 3B
Bobby Dalbec, 1B
David Hamilton, 2B
Reese McGuire, C
Ceddanne Rafaela, SS
