Ten Hag explains how he ignited Man United’s comeback against Aston Villa, saying, “We can beat anyone.”

Speaking about his Man United team’s stunning victory over Aston Villa, Erik ten Hag stated: “There was a noticeable shift in the atmosphere between the first and second halves.”

“However, if you examine the first half, you are losing as a result of two set plays, during which we lacked concentration. We played really well in the first half, I believe, and we didn’t give up.

“I told the guys to ‘keep believing, and keep doing what we did, actually do even more’ at halftime. We had to apply increasing amounts of pressure. You can see what happened when we increased pressure at 1-2.

“We are competitive with Arsenal and Liverpool, so if we play to our best, we can defeat anyone,” I stated prior to the game. Have faith that it doesn’t matter if you are down two to none.

“Keep going, behave yourself, and they did demonstrate today that we possess the necessary personality. It was, in my opinion, a really strong team effort.

After going four games without a victory, Ten Hag led his team to one of their best victories to date and a much-needed victory.

On that particular night, the gaffer perfected his techniques and ultimately managed to outmanoeuvre Unai Emery.

Ten Hag will now want to win the final game on Saturday, December 30, to bring 2023 to a close. The game is against Nottingham Forest.
