After a costly Bayern Munich error, Andre Onana sends a warning massage to his Manchester United teammates

Manchester United lost 4-3 against Bayern Munich on the opening night of their Champions League season, with Andre Onana to blame for the first goal.

Andre Onana has expressed regret to the Manchester United team and its supporters for his error in the club’s loss to Bayern Munich.

In the 28th minute on Wednesday night, Onana let Leroy Sane’s shot slip under his body, giving Bayern a 1-0 lead. United continued to play poorly defensively, allowing Erik ten Hag’s team to win the game 4-3.

Rasmus Hojlund’s shaky finish gave them hope after Serge Gnabry’s low finish made it 2-0. However, Mathys Tel’s incredible goal offset Casemiro’s two late goals and Harry Kane’s penalty score as a result of Christian Eriksen’s handball.

After the game, Onana’s error received a lot of attention, which let the floodgates open. The Cameroonian international has had trouble maintaining consistency between the posts since moving to United from Inter Milan in July for £47 million.

He opened up on those struggles to TNT Sports. “In the beginning we start really good. After my mistake we lose the control of the game,” he admitted. “It’s a difficult situation for us, for me, especially because I’m the one who let the team down. But the team was very good, I think it was because of me that we didn’t win this game.

“I’m happy for the work of the team and we just have to move on. This is the life of a goalkeeper. If we didn’t win today it’s because of me.”

“I’m pleased with the team’s effort, but now we must move on. A goalkeeper’s life is as follows. It was my fault that we lost today.
