'I'm confused!' - Manchester United fans reveals their thought on Erik ten Hag's performance against Brighton

Erik ten Hag, manager of Manchester United, has chosen his starting lineup for this afternoon’s Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Erik ten Hag has chosen his starting lineup for Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion this afternoon at Old Trafford, making a number of changes.

United, who have lost their last three league encounters with the Seagulls, will be eager to get back on track after being defeated 3-1 by Arsenal before the international break. Despite going ahead through Marcus Rashford, the Reds were defeated by goals from Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice, and Gabriel Jesus.

Ten Hag will be determined to see a good response from his players, who have had to deal with a lot of background noise in the lead-up to today’s game. The Dutchman, as predicted, has made three changes to the team that was defeated in north London.

Sergio Reguilon, signed on deadline day from Tottenham Hotspur, Scott McTominay, and Rasmus Hojlund have replaced Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Anthony Martial, and Antony. Diogo Dalot has returned to his preferred right-back position.

Meanwhile, Harry Maguire, Dan Gore, and Facundo Pellistri have been designated as substitutes. However, Raphael Varane and deadline day recruit Sofyan Amrabat are also out due to injury.

Ten Hag will be aiming for a much-needed win after making three changes to the squad that was defeated by Arsenal, as they look to make a winning start to what is building up to be a difficult period. The absence of Pellistri from the starting lineup has drawn the greatest attention from United fans in the immediate wake of the team’s announcement.

MEN Sport has examined what some United supporters have said in response to Ten Hag’s choice to once again overlook the Uruguayan, who appeared poised to start on the right wing. Bruno Fernandes will take over the post instead.

“Why is Bruno on the wing?” tweeted @Utd-Hari. “What will it take for Ten Hag to take a chance on Pellistri?”

“What should pellistri do to get a start, man!!!” said @sriramofearth.

“Defence looks good, but that midfielder,” tweeted @lwasprimemarcus. Why is Bruno playing RW when his natural position is AM? What a farce. Hopefully, Pellistri will arrive early.”

“This man wants to play Bruno on the wing when Pellistri is very available,” @bepehthecreator commented.

“Genuinely sick of ten Hag playing Bruno at RW when we have Pellistri,” remarked @blainewitten. Man, put your players in their best positions.”

Ten Hag’s decision to leave Pellistri out of his starting lineup has not gone over well, as evidenced by the messages featured in the tweets above. The fans are keen for him to be given a chance to show himself from the start.

United starting line-up: Onana; Dalot, Lindelof, Martinez, Reguilon; Casemiro, McTominay, Eriksen; Fernandes, Hojlund, Rashford.

Substitutes: Bayindir, Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Evans, Gore, Hannibal, Pellistri, Garnacho, Martial.
